Project summary
The project activity aims to improve quality of intermediate products such as pig iron, to increase competitiveness of the plant at the market, to reduce emissions of harmful substances into the atmosphere, and also of greenhouse gases (GHGs). The realization of the project should transfer the PJSC "DIISW" into one of the most modern steel enterprises of Ukraine.
Technical aspects of the project
Project activity includes:
- installation of pulverized coal injection facility at BFs;
- renewal and reconstruction of BF № 1М;
- reconstruction of BFs № 8, 9, 12;
- implementation of the new BF № 4М;
- implemantation of the new oxygen plant АКАр-40/35-4;
- implementation of a new sinter plant.
The project implementation improves competitiveness of PJSC "DIISW" due to better energy efficiency. Besides this, project would also attract additional investment by selling of ERUs and AAUs. The project implementation has the considerable influence on the regional environmental situation and also assists to appearance of the new work places. The project is one of the most large-scale ones not only in Ukraine, but also in the world.

СО2 emission reductions
The project implementation leads to GHGs emission reductions due to:
1) decrease of coke consumption, and also of another types of fuel and materials during the process of pig iron smelting;
2) decrease of fuel consumption during the process of agglomerate production etc.
