Project summary
Project activity foresees a complex of measures aimed to reduce the energy and resources consumption by way of improvement of technological processes of chemical production. The project implementation will lead to reduction of energy consumption during the production process of ammonia, nitric acid, acetic acid, urea and acetylene.
Products manufactured at Severodonetsk AZOT are of high quality and find a stable market. More than 70% of its output is exported worldwide.
Technical aspects of the project
Project activity includes:
- improvement of ammonia production process;
- improvement of nitric acid production process;
- productiveness improvement of acetic acid;
- productiveness improvement of urea;
- productiveness improvement of acetylene.

Application of joint implementation mechanism under the Kyoto Protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change allowed starting the realization of energy efficiency complex at PJSC “Severodonetsk AZOT Association” starting from 2005. As the result, the level of natural gas, electricity and heat consumption was decreased, and works, that are directed to the use of energy saving potential in a full capacity, were prolonged.
